Lane Sanders

DRUMSET:

Lane has been a prominent drummer/percussionist in the S.F. Bay Area musical theater scene for the past decade, while studying under drumset artists Mike Johnston, Peter Erskine and J.P. Bouvet. Recent credits include: School of Rock: The Musical (Palo Alto Players), Swept Away (Berkeley Repertory Theatre - World Premiere), Paradise Square (Berkeley Repertory Theatre - World Premiere), Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of the Temptations (Berkeley Repertory Theatre - World Premiere) and Seth Rudetsky's Concert For America (Curran, San Francisco - a charity event featuring Alan Cumming, Faith Prince, Shoshana Bean, Jane Lynch, and more). Since March of 2020, Lane has adapted to the changing times by doing more session work by recording remotely out of his private drum studio for various clients and projects.

ORCHESTRAL PERCUSSION:

Lane received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Percussion Performance from San Jose State University, under the percussive guidance of Galen Lemmon. He has been a guest musician with New Ballet of San Jose, Symphony Silicon Valley (now San Jose Symphony), Air Force Band of the Golden West, Berkeley Symphony Orchestra, and the Monterey County Pops.

RUDIMENTAL PERCUSSION

As a rudimental player, Lane was a member of Santa Clara Vanguard/Vanguard Cadets, and the San Jose State University Marching Band Drumline as section leader. He has over 20 years of experience writing, arranging, and teaching for many high school marching bands, drumlines, and percussion ensembles in the San Jose/South Bay/East Bay area. He is currently the Percussion Director for the San Jose State University Marching Band.
